THE IDEA BEHIND LONGCUT

A little further.
A lot more to find.

There are places worth noticing beyond the usual stops. Longcut starts with that simple idea, here in California.

Discovery comes first.

We’re building Longcut around the pleasure of finding somewhere you didn’t know to look for. For now, our focus is California: hiking trails, scenic drives, and the places between your familiar destinations. The map is the starting point.

Routes and trip planning support that idea. They help turn a place that catches your eye into a day you can think through.

Useful context, close at hand.

The app brings together map views, route notes, elevation profiles, and links to official sources. It’s a way to explore possibilities and ask better questions before you go.

Outdoor information changes. A route on the map doesn’t establish current access, permission, or safe conditions. The managing agency is the place to check before a trip.

Still taking shape.

Longcut is in development with California as its starting point, and the first release will be free to use. There isn't a launch date to announce yet.

The waitlist is a way to hear about launch and share what you’d like to discover. Joining doesn’t create an app account or guarantee beta access.
